Support Young People in Recovery
An exciting opportunity to work with young people and their families has arisen at headspace Darwin.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing meaningful support and guidance to young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing early psychosis.
You will work closely with the Functional Recovery Program team to deliver educational opportunities, reduce stigma around mental illness, and serve as a positive role model for young people.
This is an excellent chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to the development of peer support groups and community engagement events.
To be successful in this role, you will have personal experience accessing support for psychosis as a young person, a Certificate IV in Mental Health or a related field, and excellent communication skills.
Additional requirements include a willingness to complete further training and development options, flexible working conditions, and a strengths-based environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth mental health, particularly working with young Aboriginal people and their families, and a keen interest in improving service access and cultural safety within headspace youth services.
