Analytics / Data Engineer
Love working where everyone else goes on holiday?
Picture this: early morning in Hobart, coffee in hand, the Derwent River sparkling outside, Mount Wellington in the distance. While most people are planning their next getaway, you're building data systems that run a national business.
Here, the data team sits at the heart of a vertically integrated business. From operational growth models to analytics that shape strategy, you'll work on projects that matter, including a major digital twin initiative helping the business understand cost drivers, planning, and the full value chain.
This isn't "keep the lights on" work, you'll design high-performance pipelines, build analytics-ready data models, automate workflows, and shape the foundations of a platform moving toward Snowflake, all while staying hands-on with Databricks and cloud-native tools.
What you'll enjoy:
Real ownership over pipelines, models, and engineering standards
Exposure to diverse projects across multiple business areas
A waterfront office in Hobart with flexible working arrangements
Positive, calm culture that values engineering discipline and continuous improvement
Hands-on work with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and Python for real-world pipelines
We're looking for someone with 3–5 years' experience in data or analytics engineering, strong SQL skills, Power BI, and preferably hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or dbt.
You thrive on solving real problems, care about resilient pipelines, and are comfortable with ambiguity, because real data is never perfect.
