**About the Role**
This role is based in beautiful Tasmania and is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategies in state-based operations to achieve Regional EBIT targets within budgeted expenditure and working capital levels. In addition to the day-to-day running of the site and delegation of duties to ensure optimum safety, financial profitability, and customer service.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance to TAS distribution operations to ensure the achievement of agreed targets of customer satisfaction, profit, working capital, and other key performance initiatives.
- Contribute as a member of the Senior Management Team to develop and deliver on Capral's strategic plans.
- Understand local and competitor market activity and use this knowledge to develop plan to expand business and monitor the centres performance against that plan.
- Achievement of market objectives, sales volumes, price, and profit contribution targets.
- Ensure regional stock offers and levels are set and maintained to ensure the best possible outcomes for customers within budgeted levels.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement programs targeted at safety, product and service quality, labour productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Provide regional sales, profit, and expense budgets as part of the annual budgeting process.
- Develop budgets to communicate sales objectives and to provide the baseline for measurement of actual sales performance.
- Prepare reports to communicate and illustrate performance in meeting objectives and to identify key customer performance issues.
- Provide distribution services to customers within the region ensuring standards and processes are consistent with national goals and objectives.
- Manage the centre to ensure product is stored in a secure manner and operational housekeeping is up to an appropriate standard.
- Ensure the site has appropriate equipment and support facilities to fulfil customer orders within nominated time and cost constraints.
- Ensure staffing is of a calibre and quantum to meet sales and customer service objectives and cover employee leave absences.
**Essential**:

- Considerable management experience with a high degree of success in a similar position.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of product profitability, margin management and commercial awareness.
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage resources to achieve outcomes within specified budget and timeframes.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with an ability to build relationships at multiple levels to work across the organisation and marketplace.
- Proven business acumen and the ability to identify and communicate potential issues and opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence others at various levels.
- Exceptional time and personal management skills and the ability to work with a high degree of personal initiative.
- Technical product and systems knowledge (including the ability to understand drawings).
- Ability to travel and attend meetings / events outside of business operating hours.
