Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer

Spectrum Consultants are seeking 1 x Geotechnical Engineers / Engineering Geologists to assist in managing and executing a large Ground Investigation program. This is a full-time (Contract) position reporting to the Geotechnical Superintendent. Applicants will ideally be based on the east coast. The role is offered on a 12 days on and 9 days off FIFO roster.

You will collaborate with a team of industry leading experts on the investigation and design for large tailings dams. Key Duties include:
* Safety leadership through visible behaviours
* Supervision and management of investigation activities including drilling, test pitting and geophysics.
* Collection and preparation of samples for index
* Supervision of various geotechnical and hydrogeological testing regimens
* Preparation of field logs charactering materials to AS 1726:2012 standards
* Provide site supervision, compliance, and performance monitoring on a day-to-day basis
* Coordinate a range of geological, geophysical, and geotechnical investigations, ensuring client requirements are exceeded.
* Utilise your geological experience to streamline and manage the project
* Daily and weekly progress reporting
* Participate and coordinate operational risk workshops
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
* Bachelor's degree in civil, geological, geotechnical, or mining engineering.
* 3-5 years' experience in the mining or civil industry, with a focus on Ground Investigation
* Strong observational skills
* Exceptional time and program management skills
* Ability to work independently and participate effectively in teamwork.
* Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed to complete an assignment and satisfy project requirements
* Proficiency with MS Windows environment
* Collaborative and hands on approach with responsibility taken for deliverables and outcomes.
* Valid NSW Class C drivers' licence
