An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered general nurse to undertake a band 7 nurse practitioner role or paramedic practitioner role in our Urgent Treatment Centres/ Walk in Centres. You will be based at Huyton WIC.
The Walk in Centres assess and treat patients with minor illness and injuries. They are open 8am to 8/8.30pm 7 days per week. The service is nurse-led and offers both an appointment or walk-in service.

Main duties of the job The post holder will work within a team as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the healthcare management of the patient group.
Responsibilities include performing holistic assessments, interpreting, diagnosing, treating, and discharging patients or referring them to appropriate pathways.
The post holder will also take charge of shifts, manage service provision in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager/Team Leader, and support the development of others to ensure high-quality service delivery.
A flexible approach is essential, as the role may require working across all Walk-in Centre services and various shift patterns across specified locations.

Perform autonomous assessments, interpret results, treat, and refer patients with undifferentiated conditions, supporting professional development within the team.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and learners, support capacity management, and work within professional and legal standards.
Utilize clinical skills such as x-ray, wound management, suturing, and diagnostic procedures, and administer medications as trained.
Support administrative policies, ensure effective use of resources, and maintain IT competency with electronic record systems.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum (pro rata)
