About the role
We are looking for an experienced commercial lawyer with 5‑9 years of post‑admission experience to work with a highly regarded partner on a breadth of commercial law matters, including commercial contracting, major projects and government procurement and probity for Commonwealth and Victorian government departments and agencies.
Responsibilities include:
* Working on commercial law matters – commercial contracting, projects and government procurement
* Advising Commonwealth and Victorian government clients across all levels, from the Department of Defence to local councils
* Managing matters end‑to‑end and handling a busy workload with competing timelines
* Collaborating with partners, senior associates and support staff in a supportive and collaborative environment
Required qualifications and experience
* A minimum of 5 years of post‑admission experience
* Experience in commercial contracting, government procurement, projects or probity
* Background working for, or with, the Department of Defence and/or the Victorian government is highly regarded
* Commonwealth security clearance at NV1, NV2 or Baseline (minimum)
* Ability to work autonomously and confidently run matters end‑to‑end
* Strong time‑management skills to handle competing deadlines
