About the department
CITS is a diverse agency that supports all Western Australians by giving them opportunities to reach their potential and live their very best lives. Staff work across the portfolios of creative industries, sport and recreation, tourism and multicultural interests, and are also responsible for supporting major events and infrastructure projects throughout WA.

About Strategy Performance and Accountability
Partners collaboratively with all business areas to deliver agency-wide strategic priorities ensuring a unified evidence-informed approach. We provide strategic insight and lead the agency in upholding corporate, legislative and social obligations, while supporting business areas through capability building and guidance. We work closely with key stakeholders, portfolio statutory authorities and across government to deliver shared outcomes.
About the role
The position is responsible for supporting the strategic direction of CITS by providing high-level support and advice on a broad range of matters to assist the Government in formulating policy, engagement and legislative change relating to the department's portfolio areas. Responsibilities include:
* Interpreting, implementing and reviewing legislation, and leading upcoming projects focused on legislative implementation and review of existing frameworks.
* Collaborating closely with divisions across the department to establish and maintain strong, effective working relationships.
* Providing advice and support to policy teams on the development and delivery of strategic initiatives.
* Monitoring and analysing policy outcomes and contributing to evidence-based decision making.
We have one permanent full-time and one fixed-term full-time (75 hrs per fortnight) position available. The fixed-term position is for 12 months, with the possibility of subsequent contracts and/or permanency.
