SQL Developer Fixed Term Contract - 12 months Sydney Overview We are working wiht a very exciting Finacnial Servicels client, where an opportunity has opened for an experienced SQL Developer to join a fast-paced technology team, supporting and enhancing a suite of existing applications. This role combines hands-on development with production support, requiring someone who can confidently work across both project delivery and BAU environments. You'll play a key role in maintaining data integrity, improving system performance, and delivering reliable solutions that support business-critical operations. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL-based solutions within existing systems Write efficient, scalable T-SQL code including stored procedures, functions, and complex queries Perform detailed testing, validation, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and quality Investigate and resolve production issues, supporting ongoing BAU activities Collaborate with delivery leads, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver outcomes Contribute to Agile ceremonies and actively support continuous improvement initiatives Ensure all development aligns with established standards, processes, and best practices Take ownership of tasks from design through to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met Skills & Experience Proven experience as a SQL Developer in enterprise environments (typically 5 years) Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL development Hands-on experience with database objects such as stored procedures, views, and functions Exposure to the Microsoft BI stack, particularly SSIS and SSRS Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern source control practices Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence Scripting experience using PowerShell and/or development exposure to C# is highly regarded What You'll Bring Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders A proactive, adaptable approach in a fast-moving environment Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and within a team A sense of ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes
