About the role

You will be working within our high performing legal assistant team to provide clerical and administrative support to a Senior Associate and two lawyers. The Development team at Maddocks is the pre-eminent property development practice in Victoria (with a team consisting of over 50 people, including six Partners) who work and collaborate with other sections of the firm, in order to provide end to end legal advice in the property development cycle. The team prides itself on being able to assist leading developers (both listed and private) by providing outstanding and commercial legal advice in each step of the development process (from acquisition to delivery).

You will be responsible for:

1. Coordination of meetings and internal/external functions
2. Opening and closing of matters including e-filing and physical archiving via Aderant Expert (billing) and iManage (document management) systems
3. Time entry and preparation of monthly high-volume billing
4. Creating, drafting, editing, and formatting a range of legal correspondence and documents
5. Reconciling expenses on a monthly basis and
6. All other general ad hoc administrative duties

About you

To be suited to this position you will be a team player who prides themselves in exceeding all expectations and thoroughly enjoy working in a high energy, busy environment. You will have at least 2 years' experience working in a similar position within a high-volume practice. Further skills that you will need to demonstrate include:

7. An understanding of legal terminology
8. Competent technical ability using Microsoft Office suite
9. Knowledge of Aderant Exert for billing is advantageous
10. The ability to produce accurate, high-quality work within set timeframes
11. A strong attention to detail
12. A personable, collaborative, and friendly disposition.
