Are you an experienced HR skilled ready to take on a strategic leadership role? The Attorney-General's Department are seeking a highly skilled Senior HR Advisor to drive human resource excellence and support the development of a high-performing workforce.
About the Role
As the Senior HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in establishing, developing, and maintaining HR systems and processes that underpin the sustainable operation of ODPPs workforce.
You will lead end-to-end operational HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, retention strategies, performance management, and employee relations.
This role requires strategic thinking and hands-on expertise to deliver innovative solutions that align with ODPP's goals. You will provide expert advice to executives and managers on complex HR matters while fostering collaboration across teams to ensure effective leadership practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate advice on HR issues, industrial relations matters, grievances, investigations, and performance management.
- Oversee recruitment processes, onboarding/offboarding procedures, workforce planning, contract renewals, reclassification strategies, and retention initiatives.
- Develop and review HR policies to ensure compliance with legislative obligations while maintaining accurate records in line with the State Records Act 1997.
- Promote constructive leadership behaviours aligned with AGD Leadership Expectations. Build team capability through coaching and feedback while driving diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Implement strategies to mitigate workplace hazards and safeguard staff wellbeing through proactive measures.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resource management or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of South Australian Public Sector industrial frameworks.
- Proven experience in a Senior Human Resources role delivering outcomes across all areas of HR.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to manage sensitive employment issues effectively.
- High-level written communication skills for clear articulation of complex issues.
- Exceptional time management and organisational abilities to handle competing priorities under pressure.
