Your new role:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing - Medical Device Reprocessing Lead, you will provide strategic and professional nursing leadership to ensure safe, compliant and contemporary medical device reprocessing practices across Metro South Health. You will:
Lead the implementation, governance and continuous monitoring of AS5369 and the TGA Unique Device Identification (UDI) system across multiple services and sites
Provide expert clinical governance advice, risk mitigation strategies and operational leadership to support patient safety and organisational compliance
Partner with executive leaders, clinical directorates and multidisciplinary stakeholders to embed best practice, standardisation and quality assurance across diverse clinical environments
Drive system-wide improvement through data analysis, education, change management and evidence-based innovation aligned with Metro South Health's strategic priorities
About you:
You are a highly credible nursing leader with strong clinical governance expertise and the ability to influence, lead and deliver complex system-wide change. The credentials you require include:
Registered Nurse with current NMBA registration, supported by extensive senior nursing leadership experience in complex healthcare environments
Demonstrated expert knowledge of medical device reprocessing, AS5369 compliance, infection prevention and/or regulatory frameworks, with the ability to translate standards into operational practice
Proven ability to collaborate with executives, clinicians and corporate stakeholders, using strong communication, negotiation and change leadership skills
Strategic thinker with advanced capability in data analysis, quality improvement, risk management and embedding sustainable governance frameworks
