We are seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to work in our busy and well-equipped **Clayton** Component Rebuild Centre with a focus on Hydraulic components on a 6 month contract.
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for effectively carrying out major and minor repairs on the full range of Caterpillar components.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Carrying out overhaul, repairs and maintenance of earthmoving, construction, mining and agricultural components
- Troubleshooting, repairs and testing of hydraulic cylinder components
- Ensuring appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are applied at all times
- Comply with all company safety, health & environment procedures
- Coach and mentor trade assistants and apprentices
**ABOUT YOU**
**You will require the following skills, experience & attributes**:
- Qualified Diesel Fitter/Technician
- Component rebuild experience
- Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc), sit/stand for extended periods
- A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
- Confident computer skills
- Current Drivers & Fork Lift Licence
- Working knowledge of parts & service systems
- Previous supervision or mentoring of Trades Assistants & Apprentices
