Job Summary
South Rural PCN are looking to welcome a GP assistant to The Holbrook and Shotley Practice. This is a full‑time post, although part‑time may be considered for the right applicant, with additional hours as required to cover for annual leave and sickness. The hours will be worked across both our sites, and you will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi‑disciplinary team. Reporting to the practice manager and GPs, the successful applicant will provide both administrative and clinical duties.
Main Duties
* Managing all clinical post.
* Extracting information from clinical letters, applying medical codes as necessary.
* Supporting patients with appointments, referrals and follow‑up appointments.
* Performing ECGs, phlebotomy.
* Taking blood pressures.
* Supporting GPs in liaising with external agencies.

Qualifications
Desirable:
* Healthcare qualification, level 3 or 4 (or working towards)
* Phlebotomy and vaccination certificate
Essential:
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of working within a healthcare setting
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to multi‑task and to work accurately under pressure
* Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently
Desirable:
* Experience of working within primary care
