We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical inspections, testing, and compliance across a utility-scale solar farm. This role is responsible for ensuring all electrical works are planned, safe, compliant, and delivered to a high standard, while maximising plant availability and performance.
Location: Near Chinchilla, QLD
Start: February 2026
Roster: 10 days on / 4 days off
Pay Rates
* $75/hr – Normal Time
* $90/hr – OT1
* $120/hr – OT2
Requirements
* QLD or nationally recognised Electrical Licence
* Solar farm or large infrastructure experience (preferred)
* Current LVR/CPR and White Card
* Reliable, with own PPE and transport
Scope of Work
Supervision
* Supervise and lead a team of electricians on a large-scale solar farm
* Coordinate electricians, HV/LV technicians, OEMs, and subcontractors
Electrical Maintenance (Quarterly – Annual)
Inverters
* Inspect filters, fans, and cooling systems
* Check firmware updates
* Review error logs and fault history
DC & AC Systems
* Inspect cables for insulation damage, UV degradation, and rodent damage
* Inspect combiner boxes and junction boxes
* Torque-check electrical connections
* Test earthing and grounding systems
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and supervise electrical inspections, testing, and maintenance activities
* Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, LOTO procedures, and Australian Standards
(AS/NZS 3000, 5033, 4777)
* Oversee electrical testing including:
* String testing
* IV curve testing
* Insulation resistance
* Earthing and grounding
* Thermal imaging
* Inverter inspections
* Review, verify, and sign off electrical test results and reports
* Lead fault response and troubleshooting for electrical and inverter issues
* Ensure electrical works meet quality standards and OEM warranty requirements
* Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance records, and compliance reports
* Identify electrical risks, defects, and continuous improvement opportunities
