Position Objectives
This position is responsible for maintaining identified Council facilities, keeping them in a manner appropriate to the facility's use.
Key Responsibility Areas
Undertake regular inspections of facilities and equipment, ensuring compliance with Essential Service Manuals (ESM), Council risk management and asset maintenance schedules.
Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets information updates and storage.
Interact with internal and external facility users to meet their usage requirements through preparation, setup and disassembly of infrastructure and assets, and ensuring access.
Supervise cleaning contractors through regular facilities inspections and report issues to Team Leader Building and Facilities Maintenance.
Complete electrical safety checks on all relevant equipment, as per the guidelines.
Undertake regular cleaning and minor maintenance tasks in facilities and surrounds.
Work with Building and Facilities Maintenance team to deliver minor projects and facilities maintenance.
Undertake regular building inspections to identify damage, risks or maintenance issues using appropriate council systems.
Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents' skill, competence and training.
Qualifications and Experience
Post-secondary qualification in building, carpentry, plumbing or other relevant qualification, or extensive relevant experience in building maintenance.
Electrical safety testing certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Certification for working at heights and relevant experience.
Industry Construction (White) Card.
Selection Criteria
Good eye for detail to assist with cleaning contractor audits and maintenance identification.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff, contractors or leading a team.
Ability to identify and prioritise tasks and workload with minimal supervision.
Availability to complete some out of hours work when required.
