This role oversees key functions, including design, geospatial services, materials testing, environment and cultural heritage, supporting the delivery of Delivery & Operations and Project Planning & Corridor Management programs.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide vision & direction to the Technical Services (TS) function and ensure TS services and activities are delivered in alignment with state‐wide priorities and goals.
* Ensure the application and management of technical and administrative governance frameworks in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards, and procedures associated with infrastructure activities.
* Implement strategies to ensure ongoing technical capability across services provided by TS, including permanent staff supplemented by contractors and external consultants, in alignment with the needs of functional areas.
* Maintain a TS program of works and customer base by liaising with functional areas and other Managers (Technical Services) to ensure consistent allocation of resources, outputs, and standards in contributing to the delivery of the state‐wide program and priorities.
* Coordinate the engagement of consultants and monitor performance in accordance with contractual arrangements.
* Provide authoritative, strategic operational advice to the District Director and program managers on TS issues.
* Operate as a member of the District Leadership Team to contribute to and assist in District Leadership activities and initiatives.
* Adhere to Public Service Values and the Code of Conduct, maintain confidentiality, and consistently behave in an honest and professional way.
* Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions
* A criminal history check will be conducted prior to appointment due to access to sensitive data.
Desirable Requirements
* A recognised tertiary qualification in a related field is highly desirable.
* Experience in a technical discipline relevant to transport engineering or civil projects (e.g., design, survey, planning).
