Develop your career in this Senior Electrical Engineer – Transmission and Distribution role, supporting and leading the delivery of a broad range of transmission and distribution projects for clients across Australia, New Zealand and globally. This is your opportunity to guide project delivery teams across complex work packages, shape technical standards, and make a tangible impact on critical energy infrastructure.
You will be working across client sectors, including water, rail transport, major industrial infrastructure, and private sector clients, applying your transmission and distribution design abilities. You will also be an ASP Level 3 accredited engineer, demonstrating your electrical design abilities across complex high voltage systems.
How you'll make a difference
* Provide and complete engineering reviews, designs, calculations and technical advisory tasks, meeting project technical requirements.
* Support and lead project delivery excellence through arranging technical verification tasks, working within AECOM's technical standards and processes.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across transmission, distribution, and related engineering disciplines to deliver innovative and technically outstanding solutions.
* Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on secondary systems matters and ensuring high‐quality communication and service.
* Raise design discrepancies and contribute to problem solving in a collaborative team environment.
* Help mentor graduate and early‐stage career engineers, developing their technical and project abilities.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with a track record across transmission line and distribution design projects. You will be known for your ability to work independently, lead the delivery of projects, and collaborate in teams with a project and client‐first focus. Experience and exposure to working across different project types, site requirements, and geographies at utility scale is an advantage.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive experience (more than 5 years) delivering complex electrical transmission and distribution design.
* The ability to lead projects and work packages, managing multidisciplinary teams, project budgets, and timelines in a consultancy environment.
* Strong client engagement and communication skills, with the ability to advise, influence, and maintain long‐term client relationships.
* ASP Level 3 accreditation and a relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, Neara, 3E Earthing, Neuron Earthing, Cymcap, Cable Pull, Voltage Drop Calculator and PLS-CADD.
