About the Role
This Site Manager position manages the day-to-day operations of Bedford's packaging business located in Panorama and reports to the Operations Manager. Bedford Packaging is an NDIS business that provides employment opportunities to people with a disability, assisting them in achieving their workplace goals. Contracts that Bedford fulfil at this site include co-packing and labelling services to businesses like San Remo, Haigh's Chocolates, PepsiCo and Obela. This role works closely with supervisors, team leaders and other packaging staff to enhance processes and optimise efficiencies.
Duties include:
Lead daily production to meet quality and customer standards
Coordinate scheduling with sales, maintenance, and quality teams
Monitor operations, proactively implementing corrective actions
Support employees in achieving their NDIS goals
Ensure WHS compliance, maintaining a safe, healthy work environment
Manage emergency responses, provide inclusive training, and lead practice drills
About You
As an experienced manager in the packaging or manufacturing industry, you will have hands-on experience managing business operations, coordinating complex tasks, overseeing production, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude towards working with people with disability.
Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:
Experience leading and supporting a team and promoting collaboration
Empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards people with disability
Efficient time and organisational management
Strong understanding of OMS, WHS, and HACCP to ensure compliance
Proven emergency response knowledge and current Chief Warden qualification (desirable)
Prior to commencement you will also need to:
Provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (no older than six months)
NDIS worker screening clearance
Supply evidence of right to work in Australia and 100 points of identification
Successfully pass a pre-employment medical
