This position is created to support our amazing Australia Zoo facilities, by ensuring that all cleaning tasks that fall outside of the everyday tasks of the Cleaning department are attended to, and kept to a standard that is acceptable.
As a Cleaning Services Attendant your contribution to the team is integral to link the overall cleanliness with the experience our guests have when visiting our facilities each day.
To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated high attention to detail, have the ability to identify cleanliness concerns, problem solve and escalate any areas that require further attention to the appropriate team members.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Utilising equipment such as pressure washers, blowers, vacuums, mops on a regular basis.
* Liaising with HOD’s and Supervisors of animal keeping departments to communicate areas that you are planning to clean an area.
* Prioritise cleaning tasks by way of urgency and risk to guests, staff and animals or as directed by your supervisor/manager.
* Maintaining all CCTV cameras and devices by ensuring they are free of marks, dust or debris.
* Maintaining the cleanliness of gates, fences and signage in and around the Zoo.
* Maintaining all pathways, access areas, service roads and main buildings throughout the Zoo.
* General cleaning of office areas as required/requested.
* Waste Disposal and litter removal where required.
* Effective and safe use of chemicals as per the Safety Data Sheets, working in conjunction with the Cleaning Departments standards of operation.
* Cleaning and maintaining the necessary equipment, ensuring that any servicing requirements are communicated to the department manager.
* Guest relations and customer service (providing directions and information to guests)
* Work within the guidelines of Workplace Health & Safety procedures to ensure security & safety of self, staff, visitors and animals.
* Other duties as requested by the HR or Senior Management team.

* Working within the guidelines of Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
* Be willing to extend and apply skills and knowledge to undertake expanding/changing responsibilities.
* Be willing to assist other departments operationally.
* Other duties as requested by Senior Management.
Essential Criteria:
* Hold a current Drivers License.
* Full availability, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
* Hepatitis B vaccination (unless otherwise exempt).
