- Hybrid Working, work from home with client visits
We're currently partnering with a growing, specialist loss adjusting firm as they continue to expand their footprint across Australia. They're now looking for an experienced Senior Loss Adjuster with strong Strata and Commercial property experience to help build out their Melbourne presence.
With an established national team and a strong pipeline of work, this is a genuine opportunity to step into a role where you'll have autonomy, ownership, and the ability to make your mark locally — while still being backed by a highly experienced national team.
The business operates with a flexible, non-corporate approach — no unnecessary layers, no rigid structures — just a strong, supportive environment where people are trusted to get on with the job.
The Role
This is a hands‐on, end‐to‐end loss adjusting role with a strong focus on property claims, particularly across strata and commercial portfolios.
You'll be responsible for managing claims from initial site inspection through to final resolution, working closely with clients, insurers, and a range of technical third parties to drive outcomes.
The role is highly field‐based, with regular site visits (typically 2‐3 days per week) to assess damage, coordinate specialists, and progress claims through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a portfolio of property claims (predominantly strata and commercial, with some domestic exposure)
* Conducting site inspections and preparing clear, detailed reports
* Coordinating builders, engineers, hygienists, restorers, and other specialists
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
* Driving claims through to resolution with a focus on quality outcomes and service delivery
* Prioritising and managing multiple active claims in a fast‐paced environment
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in loss adjusting within the insurance industry
* Strong background in strata and commercial property claims (essential)
* Exposure to domestic property claims also beneficial
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a range of stakeholders
* Excellent time management and ability to prioritise competing workloads
* Self‐motivated, autonomous approach with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable working in a less structured, high‐trust environment
Why This Role
* Join a specialist firm in a genuine growth phase
* Play a key role in shaping the Melbourne market from the ground up
* Work within a highly experienced, supportive national team
* Flexible hybrid working environment with strong work‐life balance
* Autonomy to manage your own day without unnecessary corporate process
* Primarily local travel, with occasional interstate travel for collaboration and team events
