Scenic World is home to world‐class attractions set in the heart of the Blue Mountains & we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Machinist to help keep our iconic rides operating safely, smoothly & reliably every single day.

About the Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, you will play a key role in the ongoing inspection, maintenance, repair & shutdown work for Scenic World's rides & mechanical systems.
This is a highly practical, hands‐on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting ability & a pro-active, self motivated approach to work.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out daily, weekly & monthly inspections of rides to ensure safe and reliable operation
* Perform maintenance, repairs, rebuilds & shutdown work on ropeways, the railway & other mechanical systems
* Diagnose & resolve mechanical issues efficiently to minimise downtime
* Assist with training apprentices & maintenance team members
* Work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
* Maintain a strong focus on teamwork & communication
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
* Cert 3 Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Machinist) or equivalent
* Strong mechanical knowledge & problem-solving ability
* Experience with routine mechanical maintenance & repair
* Ability to work safely & collaboratively within a team
* Willingness to work at heights (current ticket or willingness to obtain)
* Reasonable level of fitness (stairs, ladders & physical tasks required)
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience with ropeways, chairlifts, or amusement rides
* Machining experience - manual lathe and mill
* Ability to weld
* Working at Heights ticket
* EWP or Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
