CDCSG is seeking a driven and community‑oriented individual to join us in delivering high‑quality support services to Defence members and their families. Reporting to the CDCSG President, the Community Support Coordinator will be responsible for:
* Coordinating and delivering programs: Plan, organise and execute CDCSG events, workshops and community activities that strengthen connections among Defence families and the broader community.
* Primary contact for Defence families: Serve as the first point of contact for Defence families seeking assistance, information or referrals to appropriate services.
* Administration and recordkeeping: Maintain accurate membership records, databases and contact lists; manage email communications and bookings.
* Grant and compliance support: Assist with grant applications, prepare reports and ensure alignment with funding agreements and organisational policies.
* Stakeholder engagement: Provide regular updates and reports to the Committee, and liaise with Defence, government and community stakeholders to strengthen partnerships.
* Communication and promotion: Coordinate newsletters, social media posts and community network messaging to promote CDCSG activities, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
* Governance and policy compliance: Support the implementation of CDCSG policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
* Focus on Defence families: Ensure that funded programs and resources are directed primarily to current serving Defence members and their families, while offering non‑funded community connection opportunities for ADF veterans where appropriate.
Required Skills & Attributes
* Proven organisational and event‑management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
* Experience in community engagement or event planning is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Defence lifestyle challenges and community support networks is advantageous.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or equivalent.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Australian driver's licence.
* Flexibility to work occasional weekends (within the 25‑hour weekly total).
Employment Details
* Type: Part‑time (25 hours/week, generally Monday–Friday, 9 am–2 pm).
* Salary: $39.77 per hour plus superannuation, plus a First Aid allowance of $18.45 per week.
* Covered under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
* Six‑month probation period applies.
