We are here for everyone and believe that all people have the right to be respected and their differences celebrated.About The RoleThe Personal Care Assistant role sits within the community home care programs and supports the independence of clients to continue to live in the community. The role will deliver a range of services to clients who are assessed as requiring low to high levels of care in and around their own private homes, and sometimes in community establishments. Services are delivered in line with the client’s individual care plan.Assist clients with general household cleaning tasks within client homes such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, linen change, laundry, bathroom clean etcAssist clients with personal care needs such as showering, toileting etcAccompanied shopping and errandTransport and community access as requiredEngage and communicate with clients in their home, and other stakeholders such as family members as requiredMonitor and report any physical, emotional or behavioural changes/concerns as per MiCare processes and in a timely mannerEffective management of communication channels with all stakeholders, including escalating significant events to Service Coordination/Team LeaderAbout YouKnowledge of the aging process and experience caring for elders in the communityAbility to travel and be flexible/responsive to client and organisational needsEye for detail and high standards of service delivery and documentation.Ability to work with minimal supervision, whilst accepting direction as required.Flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient mannerComputer literate with the ability to use a smart device for work including care notes, rostering, MiCare processesAbility to speak a language in addition to English would be advantageousQualificationsA Certificate III in Individual Support / Aged CareWillingness to undertake a police checkCurrent First Aid and CPR certificatesValid drivers licence, comprehensively insured and roadworthy vehicleEvidence of current influenza and full Covid-19 vaccinationsSmartphone, access to computer/deviceWhy MiCare?Generous salary packaging benefits for the non-profit sectorOpportunity to make a real difference in the lives of elders living at homeIndependant role with strong support network within MiCare
