The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our Engineering team to produce quality designs, drawings and documentation. In this role, you will prepare electrical designs, drawings and documentation for switchboards, modular switchboard rooms, control systems, and power distribution systems. Working closely with engineers and project managers, you will deliver accurate designs, drawings, layouts, and schematics that meet industry standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
* Design and create detailed electrical drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, termination diagrams, power, control, and lighting systems.) using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or EPLAN).
* Interpret and apply electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
* Collaborate across disciplines to achieve coordinated project outcomes.
* Assist in developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and equipment specifications.
* Maintain accurate drawing records and document revisions.
* Identify and resolve any design and drawing issues
* Update design and drawings as required to ensure the latest version is always being utilised.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in a same or similar role, ideally with a manufacturing or industrial background
* Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); Revit or EPLAN exposure highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Experience with modular switch-rooms or data centre infrastructure.
* Familiarity with BIM workflows.
* Electrical trade or on-site installation background is an advantage
