Job Summary
Fitters, Turners & Machinists are required to work in a team environment on the production line. As a Train Assembly Technician - Mechanical, you will be responsible for vehicle assembly and fitting components in various stages of assembly.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Assemble components on the production line according to specifications and instructions using mechanical, electrical, and hand tools.
2. Support quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives by carrying out lean production activities and working towards continuous improvement.
3. Record and report faults to relevant areas of production and perform work quality checks to ensure product meets quality and safety standards.
4. Maintain a clean, well-organised safe work area that adheres to company housekeeping processes and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and procedures.
5. Carry out problem solving and troubleshooting techniques as part of a team to realise continuous improvement to products and processes.
6. Undertake training relevant to the role and across teams to provide resource/skills and support/works in other areas as may be necessary.
7. Train and act as a mentor to others on process and job role requirements.
8. Adhere to all risk assessment and Health & Safety regulations and ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.
Key Requirements:
1. At least 2 years' experience in similar or related roles such as engineering, automotive, rail construction, manufacturing, agriculture, electrical/electronics, construction, and civil construction.
2. Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position or certified accreditation in mechanical or electrical field, or equivalent industry experience.
3. Experience with office management software such as MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word specifically).
