Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator who is also skilled in forming and placing piers and footings and occasional sub-grades for house slabs. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a crew on foundation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate excavators safely and efficiently for foundation excavation
* Excavate for footings and pier systems according to plans
* Form, measure, and prepare footings and piers to specification
* Assist with rebar placement and concrete preparation
* Read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
* Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
* Maintain a clean and safe job site
* Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors
Qualifications:
* Proven experience operating excavators in residential or commercial construction
* Strong knowledge of concrete foundations, piers, and footings
* Ability to read and grade plans
* Understanding of proper depth, compaction, and layout procedures
* Valid MR driver’s license
* White Card (Construction Induction Card) – mandatory
* Strong work ethic and reliability
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working on active job sites
