Overview
As the BETRS Peer Support Worker, you will have lived experience of and sustained recovery from an eating disorder. The primary purpose of the role is to provide hope for recovery and peer support for consumers accessing the service.
Responsibilities
Assist with meal support and social eating outings (which requires agreement to eating with consumers at these times).
Lead group sessions from own lived experience and co-facilitate other groups as appropriate.
Provide one-to-one peer support sessions either face to face or via phone/telehealth.
Qualifications & Requirements
Lived experience of an eating disorder.
Sustained recovery from an eating disorder for a minimum of 2 years.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Lived or living experience role (or equivalent type of role such as a mentor or advocate).
Completion of (or willingness to undertake) Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Training.
