About The Role

We're looking for an Assistant Brand Home Manager to be based in Berri, and provide support the Precinct Manager and broader Cellar Door team by delivering an exceptional wine experience to visitors of the Berri Cellar Door. In this role you carry out a variety of tasks including designing weekly rosters, logistics of stock management and order fulfilment, conducting invoicing and banking procedures, and coaching and mentoring the Cellar Door Hosts on site. You may also be required to promote and communicate to the premium wine club, develop & deliver tastings and experiences or conduct storeroom tasks. This is a hands on role.

This is a permanent, part-time opportunity offering 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities


* Supervise and administer daily sales through various site sales channels
* Support the Precinct Manager to develop a highly professional & efficient cellar door
* Maintain web stores, order forms and tasting notes.
* Support the broader Cellar Door team to sign customers up to Distinction Wines Platform
* Ensure that all visitors to the Cellar Door are hosted in a warm and professional way
* Upkeep of cellar door appearance
* Staff supervision and leadership
* Conduct the recruitment and onboarding process for new casual staff
* Organise monthly educational wine tastings for staff
* Create weekly rosters
* Conduct performance assessments for casual staff when required
* Ensure compliance of Liquor Regulations at all times
* Maintenance or implementation of daily Housekeeping and Cleaning Schedule
* Organise stock ordering, receival and storage as well as weekly cycle counts
* Closing and balancing till (against cash takings and JDE)
* Carry out banking and cash control procedures
* Ordering merchandise, stationary, collateral in conjunction with the Precinct Manager
* Ensure all staff adhere to HAACP, Food Safety and other CWAU policies and procedures
* Represent Cellar Door at a local tourism level
* Other duties as directed by the Precinct Manager

What You'll Bring
* Minimum 1 years' experience managing hospitality/ retail/ cellar door (highly desired)
* Availability across a 7-day roster
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent people management skills
* Growth-mindset and the willingness to learn a variety of different skillsets
* Exceptional customer service skills
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills
* Ability to think logically and solve problems
* Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
* Knowledge of Microsoft, JDE and POS systems
* Knowledge of Australian wine styles and regions
* A genuine interest in wine and the ability to passionately convey our brand history
* Ability to manage a small team of employees
* Stock management and control
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of day-to-day cellar door or retail operations
* No formal qualification required
