We are looking for someone who can assist with all aspects of our business. Your responsibilities will span from financial reporting and working capital management to strategic insights and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Operations
* Prepare, review, and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports
* Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations
* Monitor and manage working capital, cash flow, and budgeting processes
* Ensure timely BAS, PAYG, and other tax lodgements in line with ATO obligations
* Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
Client Consulting & Strategic Support
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted advisory relationships
* Deliver insights and recommendations based on financial data and industry trends
* Support clients with capital raising preparation, financial modelling, and board reporting
* Assist with structuring, planning, and executing strategic initiatives (e.g. market entry, pricing models, cost control strategies)
People & Process Management
* Supervise and mentor a junior finance team intern
* Improve internal systems and processes for scalability and efficiency
* Develop and implement templates, checklists, and dashboards for internal and client use
Ad Hoc & Value-Add
* Support due diligence processes where applicable
* Help review contracts and commercial terms with a financial lens
* Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities
Key Requirements
* Professional Qualification: CPA or CA certified
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting, with a mix of advisory and commercial roles
* Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, scenario modelling, lookups, etc.)
* Communication: Confident client communicator; able to distill complexity into clear actions
* Organisation: Strong time management and attention to detail
* Leadership: Experience managing and developing junior staff
* Business Stage Knowledge: Exposure to both startups/early-stage companies and mature businesses
* Tax Knowledge: Solid grasp of Australian tax obligations and working capital mechanics
* Strategic Thinking: Appetite and experience in strategic planning, business model development, or financial forecasting
* Familiarity with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or other cloud-based accounting platforms
* Financial modelling or valuation experience
Nice to Have (but not essential)
* Experience working in or advising venture-backed startups
* Exposure to board reporting or investor relations
* Background in consulting, corporate finance, or business transformation
