Overview
Clinical Nurse Educator – NICU. In this pivotal role you will design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs that shape the future of neonatal nursing. You will guide new staff as they begin their NICU journey and foster the ongoing professional development of experienced clinicians. You will support the delivery of clinical best practice, elevate patient and family experiences, and contribute to improved outcomes for vulnerable patients. You will work with the NICU Nurse Educator and the Manager of Newborn Services to receive orientation and tailored education for success in this specialised role.

Our NICU delivers world-class medical and surgical care to sick and preterm infants, supporting families from across the Hunter New England, Mid North Coast, and Northern NSW regions. The facility is located in Newcastle and is transitioning to a state-of-the-art unit as part of the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct. Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and evaluate innovative educational programs for neonatal nursing.
- Guide and support new NICU staff as they begin their NICU journey.
- Foster ongoing professional development of experienced clinicians.
- Support evidence-based clinical practice and contribute to quality improvement projects.
- Collaborate with the NICU team to enable service improvements and professional growth.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration and post-registration qualifications in education or equivalent experience.
- Post-graduate qualification in education or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience in neonatal nursing with leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Commitment to family-centered care and evidence-based practice.
