Overview
At Soho House, a Runner plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. The Runner delivers food and beverages promptly, maintains cleanliness and organisation across service areas, and acts as a key link in the dining experience between the kitchen/bar and the floor.
Responsibilities
* Bring food and drinks quickly from the kitchen/bar to the respective locations in the restaurant and deliver to members.
* Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment.
* Provide service to and be accountable for an assigned section.
* Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
* Polish cutlery to ensure they are ready for service.
* Prepare additions to tables in advance (e.g., lemon wraps, condiments, butter portions).
* Perform opening and closing procedures including setup and breakdown of stations.
* Handle and store all service equipment carefully.
* Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn menu changes and daily tastings.
Qualifications
* 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment.
* Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service.
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a hands-on approach.
* Confident, polished, and professional demeanour.
* Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
* Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.
