Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (SA) Aboriginal Corporation (ADAC) offers a range of alcohol and drug harm minimisation and treatment programs to Aboriginal and other vulnerable people in our regions of service. Our programs provide support to clients who live or come from South Australia and are experiencing problems caused by alcohol and drug use.
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and culturally responsive Offender Support Worker to deliver alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling and support to Aboriginal offenders in custodial and community settings across South Australia's Northern Country Region.
You will be working closely with prisons, community corrections, rehabilitation services, and Aboriginal communities to provide culturally appropriate, strengths-based support and effective throughcare for offenders at various stages of their justice journey.
What You Will Bring
* Experience working with Aboriginal clients, preferably within justice, AOD, community or social services settings
* Strong understanding of culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
* Experience in AOD counselling, casework, group work or related support services
* Ability to work autonomously across regional and remote locations
* Strong communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills
* High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability
* Basic computer and administration capability
* Valid driver's licence, Working with Vulnerable People Clearance and Working With Children Clearance.
