Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (SA) Aboriginal Corporation (ADAC) offers a range of alcohol and drug harm minimisation and treatment programs to Aboriginal and other vulnerable people in our regions of service. Our programs provide support to clients who live or come from South Australia and are experiencing problems caused by alcohol and drug use.
We are currently seeking motivated and compassionate Support Workers to join our Footsteps Program.
Footsteps is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that provides a safe and supportive place for people to recover. It helps residents build routine, learn life skills and work towards healthy, independent living.
This role provides hands-on support within a Therapeutic Community model, helping residents build confidence, daily living skills and independence while maintaining a safe, respectful and empowering environment.
We have multiple vacancies for this role in a full time, part time and casual capacity
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will engage directly with residents, participate in daily routines and activities, support health and wellbeing appointments, supervise outings, and help deliver a structured and culturally safe program. You will work collaboratively with coordinators, families, professionals and community stakeholders, always upholding ADAC values and professional standards.
About You

* Experience in community services, disability, AOD, mental health, support work or similar (desirable)
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to remain calm, respectful and professional in challenging situations
* Reliability, cultural respect, and a genuine commitment to resident wellbeing
* Ability to follow schedules, routines and organisational processes
* Basic computer and administration capability
* Valid driver's licence, Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)This role involves engagement and participation of youth in the programs through development of youth focused activities
