About this opportunity
The NACC has an Executive Assistant to the Commissioner position available for immediate filling Canberra. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.
About the role
The role of Executive Assistant to the Commissioner encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including providing high-level executive assistance through the delivery of high quality administrative, organisational and support services including diary management, meeting coordination, document preparation and records management, and overall anticipating the needs of the Commissioner.
**Key activities**
- Manage the Commissioner's office including prioritising the Commissioner's time and drawing attention to matters of priority.
- Diary management, including workflow and cadence of meetings and engagements, and organising travel.
- Organise and coordinate a range of meetings and relevant materials.
- Liaise with internal and external Senior Executives and their offices, and tasking across the organisation as directed by the Commissioner.
- Provide secretariat support for meetings as required, including compiling the agenda, disseminating papers, taking minutes and following up actions.
- Prepare and review reports, correspondence, presentations and submissions, ensuring the accuracy and quality of content within these documents.
- Undertake hearing associate duties for NACC hearings, including:
- liaising with the NACC's legal staff in preparing for the hearing
- preparation of hearing materials
- announcing the commencement or adjournments of hearings
- administering oaths or affirmations to witnesses
- and dealing with other practical matters involving supporting witnesses and NACC staff.
Eligibility
- ** Citizenship** - applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- ** Security clearance **- this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1
- ** Suitability assessment**:
- the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
