**Personal Care Worker**
**Central Allocations Unit - Nursing Support Unit**
**Permanent - Part Time (minimum 40 - 72 hours per fortnight)**
**IN38-IN39**

**About the role**

NSU staff have permanent hours and an electronic roster which advises shift locations. NSU staff are required to work AM, PM and Night Duty shifts. NSU staff are required to input their shift requests into our electronic rostering system for review.

To be considered for this role you must be living in the Ballarat region. We are not able to consider applicants who are currently studying for this role.

You will be required to provide 2 referees, one being your current Facility Manager / NUM and the second another manager / supervisor. Newly qualified carers can provide placement manager / course coordinator and a manager from a current / recent employer.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assisting residents to meet their needs as defined by them in a variety of aged care setting
- Provide resident focused and holistic care under the supervision of the Registered & Enrolled Nurses
- Accurate documentation of resident care and meeting of health service guidelines
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff
- Provide resident focused service in relation to meals / food services
- Demonstrated ability to function within a team
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education

**Skills and experience**
- Successful completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support (or relevant equivalent)
- Desirable, but not essential, to have completed the Assist Clients With Medication unit
- Current HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Handling Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred, but is not essential

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Have you completed a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent?
- Desirable : Have you completed the unit HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medications or equivalent?
- Essential : Have you completed HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices in the past 12 months?
- Essential : What is your current availability, and how many shifts per week are you able to commit to?
- Essential : Do you have any restrictions on participating in a 24hr 7 day a week roster?
- Essential : Please describe your previous experience relevant to the Personal Care Worker position?
- Essential : Nursing Support Unit staff are required to work across all Directorates; acute, sub-acute and residential aged care settings. Are you willing to work across all 3 Directorates?
