Clinical Nurse Educator
General Medicine & Cardiology
Position available: Permanent Part Time (0.5 FTE)
Salary Classification: Clinical Nurse Educator Year 1 - 2
About The Role
We are seeking a motivated Clinical Nurse Educator to support learning and clinical development across our General Medicine and Cardiology teams. This will be a 0.5 permanent part-time position. In this role, you will provide hands‑on teaching, coordinate education activities, and build capability within a diverse and fast‑paced clinical environment. You will partner closely with NUMs and the multidisciplinary team to identify learning needs, strengthen clinical practice, and ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide bedside education, coaching and clinical guidance to nursing staff
Support onboarding, competency assessments and continuing professional development
Coordinate mandatory training, skills updates and education programs
Promote evidence‑based practice and quality improvement across both specialties
Essential Criteria
Registered Nurse with AHPRA, plus relevant postgraduate qualifications
Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, facilitation, competency assessment and feedback
A solid understanding of adult learning principles and confidence designing engaging education using a mix of modalities
Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills—you inspire confidence and bring people along with you
Strong knowledge of hospital accreditation standards, professional practice standards, legislation and policies and a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing.
