About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our High Voltage team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing all engineering and project management activities to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Project Management and Engineering Team, assigning tasks based on competencies, customers, and availability.
* Drive continuous improvement through lean Six Sigma deployment, delivering cost savings targets.
* Supervise project execution and performance through regular reviews with management to ensure adherence to contracts.
* Approve deviations in line with delegated authority and determine corrective actions to optimize project/contract performance.
* Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and serve as an escalation point for individual and systemic project/contract execution issues.
* Ensure product design and supply meet customer specifications and local/international standards.
* Cooperate with supply management in supplier selection and monitoring ongoing performance.
* Maintain a safe working environment and ensure staff follow procedures and practices.
* Develop project management skills and engineering knowledge within the team.
* Strive for operational excellence through LEAN principles and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
* Project Management Qualification/Certification (PMP, Diploma in Project Mgt, etc.) highly regarded.
* Minimum 10+ years experience in the power industry.
* Proven experience in delivering DMAIC projects and Six Sigma green belt certification.
* Fault finding and critical thinking skills using logical thinking.
* Advanced computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.
* LEAN Manufacturing principles knowledge and experience implementing LEAN projects.
* 5 years electrical industry experience with large volume project leadership.
* People management experience in a blue-collar industry/EBA workforce.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.
