About the Role
Lead the design of Electrical Primary Systems for global HV transmission and renewable energy projects. You'll tackle detailed planning and balance of plant design, solve technical challenges, and ensure all work meets high standards. Collaborate with teams worldwide to guide projects from concept through construction and operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and review primary systems for HV infrastructure projects.
* Develop technical specifications for BoP contractors and assist in tendering processes.
* Liaise with the TNSP, AEMO and Contractors on specification, design, commissioning, and operation of primary systems.
* Ensure all designs meet relevant standards and specifications.
* Support Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT & SAT).
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Chartered or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
* Layout design for Air‑Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas‑Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substations, including clearance requirements and grounding practices.
* Design and operation of CTs, CBs, cables, earth switches, surge arresters. Includes transformer specification, maintenance and testing, as well as cable testing and monitoring.
* Demonstrated experience with BESS integration projects.
* Familiarity with HV substation construction standards and best practices.
* Knowledge of ISO9001, QA processes, and relevant Australian standards.
* Work on major, newly awarded projects.
