The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Full-time Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Projects & Service, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, including system upgrades, new components & engineering works. The project manager will work closely with the engineering and technical teams to ensure projects are completed on budget, on time and in compliance with scope & regulations.
The key areas of focus are:
* Manage allocated projects in a range from $100k to multimillion dollar projects, from
feasibility stage to handover to the client
* Achieve quality and profit objectives whilst ensuring client satisfaction.
* Coordinate engineering and design requirements with engineering teams
* Work with clients to ensure successful delivery of agreed scope
* Liaise with Procurement personnel and suppliers
* Liaise with relevant personnel in SIEMAG TECBERG Germany and SIEMAG TECBERG China where required
* Selection and management of sub-contractors including preparation of contractual documentation to minimise operational risk and contract negotiation to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
* Prepare reports to client and management on project progress.
* Prepare and authorise project programming schedule in MS-projects.
* Authorise payments to suppliers
* Managing invoicing and invoicing forecast
* Selection and management of service sub-contractors
* Maintain communication with clients at all stages of projects & services, and resolve related problems in conjunction with appropriate staff &/or suppliers
* Visit clients, sites & suppliers to monitor project progress.
* Assist the sales department with client tenders and prepare tender documentation.
* Exposure to heavy industrial environments, working alongside client operational teams
What we're looking for:
* 3-5 years of experience in technical project management
* Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic engineering
* Demonstrated ability to deliver projects against cost, schedule and quality targets
* Demonstrated ability to be a team player and who can work self-sufficiently to generate positive outcomes.
* Flexible and focused
* Strong problem-solving capability in complex technical environments
* A willingness to learn new skills
* Heavy industry / mining infrastructure experience highly regarded
* Site-based project delivery experience
* Exposure to mechanical systems / lifting / rotating equipment / heavy machinery
* Understanding of contract models (EPC, design & construct, etc.)
* Knowledge of safety management systems
* Good understanding of Project Management accounting including monitoring project expenses, project team workload (timesheets) and staying within Project budget.
