About The Role
The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for carrying out a variety of maintenance and support tasks to ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds are kept safe, clean, and well maintained. Based in Ipswich and working across Toowoomba as needed, this role works under the direction of the Property and Assets Coordinator and contributes to the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of DCC Industry Group facilities. The position requires strict compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures, while maintaining professional standards by completing all work in a timely and safe manner.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Ensure all equipment is used and maintained appropriately
* Learn new skills, follow instructions and ask questions when unsure
* Undertakes other miscellaneous maintenance and support duties as reasonably required by your manager/supervisor
* Conduct testing and tagging of electrical equipment in accordance with relevant standards
* Complete event clean‐up duties as required
* Remove rubbish and manage waste to maintain clean and safe areas
* Perform general cleaning of buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas
* Carry out garden and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure outdoor areas are well presented
* Operate high‐pressure cleaning equipment to clean surfaces and remove built‐up dirt
* Remove graffiti using appropriate tools, products, and safety procedures
* Assemble flat packs, furniture and complete minor installation tasks as required
* Clean gutters to ensure proper drainage and prevent blockages
* Clean windows to maintain a clean and professional appearance of facilities

Full‐time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm or 7:00am - 4:00pm.

Requirements / Qualifications
* 2+ years' experience with general and garden maintenance
* Experience with tagging and testing electrical equipment
* Ability to and experience with safely towing a trailer
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally
* Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or able to obtain
* Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening) or able to obtain
* LCS (Licensing of Care Services) check or able to obtain
* Ability to pass a national police check and traffic history check
