About The Role
Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to manage critical finance functions in a growing national veterinary group. As an Accounts Payable Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial operations across a multi‐entity group. You'll handle accounts payable processes, credit card reconciliation, invoice payments, and end‐of‐month reporting. You'll also be a go‐to expert for practice managers and clinical teams when it comes to financial accuracy and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and reconcile supplier invoices, employee expenses, and credit card transactions
* Manage AP mailboxes and respond to payment queries
* Prepare and process mid‐month and end‐of‐month payments
* Reconcile supplier statements
* Resolve supplier queries via email and phone
* Assist with month‐end procedures and provide financial reporting as required
* Support the broader finance team as needed
The Successful Applicant Should Have
* Minimum 2 years' experience in accounts payable
* Proficiency with Xero, Dext, and Excel
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Excellent communication
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance an advantage
