Description
The role of Executive Director Industry and Audience Development involves setting strategic direction, designing programs and policies, managing risk and governance, and directing Screen Queensland Studios. The ED works closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to plan, develop, and deliver programs that support capacity building and skills development for the screen sector in Queensland.
This role oversees Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane and Cairns, developing screen culture and audiences through creative industry partnerships. Key responsibilities include building a coordinated statewide approach to screen pathways, enhancing collaboration across the training ecosystem, and providing strategic advice and setting goals for Screen Queensland's training initiatives and investments.
Liaising with education providers and industry bodies is essential to strengthen skills and training. Supporting workforce development by expanding career pathways and removing entry barriers is also crucial. Championing training, growing talent pipelines, and creating opportunities for practitioners and emerging creatives are key aspects of this role.
In addition, the ED will work with Screen Queensland Studios to expand their role as educational partners and precincts. Managing training and pathway programs, including attachments, traineeships, writers' rooms, and Screen Queensland Hub, is vital to achieve the organization's objectives.
Industry Development
* Liaise with education providers and industry bodies to strengthen skills and training.

* Support Screen Queensland Studios to develop a business and marketing plan based on attracting productions and stage rentals.
* Develop strategies for value-added services, positioning Screen Queensland Studios as an educational precinct addressing pathways and workforce needs.
* Oversee compliance, risk management, and health and safety frameworks.
Creative Industry Partnerships
* Invest in screen culture programs linked to cultural events to strengthen Queensland's cultural calendar and audiences.
* Secure new and grow existing partnerships across Queensland.
* Develop proposals and collateral positioning Screen Queensland as a key partner.
* Deliver opportunities for Queenslanders to experience screen content and innovation.
* Optimise funding and measure success and impact.
* Connect audiences with multiplatform content.
Requirements
1. 10+ years in education, learning & development, or training leadership with risk/governance focus; screen/arts experience preferred.
2. Proven leadership of programs and executives, with strong influencing skills.
3. Business acumen, commercial, strategic, and project management capability.
4. Knowledge of screen/arts industries, players, talent, and trends, especially workforce planning.
5. Experience in strategic business development and project planning.
6. Ability to analyse financial/narrative data with high attention to process.
7. Strong time management and ability to deliver multiple projects on time and budget.
8. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, representing Screen Queensland with diplomacy and tact.
9. Ability to foster positive, collaborative team environments.
10. Tertiary qualifications in education, L&D, or creative industries preferred.
