Perth Airport is investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure to support our airline partners to grow, offering more services to new destinations and an improved customer experience.

Over the coming decade, we will expand T1 International and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks, and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location, giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience.

The Perth Airport estate is spread over 2100 hectares and has developed a $1.5 billion portfolio of existing industrial premises and significant vacant land holdings.

Our team is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Category Manager.

What you'll do:

In this role, you will provide support to the Projects Team by overseeing the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing strategies to managing the pre-contracts award process. You will utilise market insights to gain a commercial advantage and challenge existing processes to find better solutions.

Your initial responsibility will be to assess the procurement function within the Projects Team and to identify and recommend procurement contracting efficiencies. You will engage stakeholders directly to ensure alignment with the Procurement Policy and establish both strategic and governance processes.

Your responsibilities will include developing alternative contractors and supply solutions to mitigate risks and ensure supply continuity. You will focus on achieving sustainable value for money outcomes and may appoint a direct report (Category Manager) if required. Additionally, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert for the TechOne Contracting System.

You will also support the Projects Team for post-award contract management, including performance reviews, negotiating variations, and ensuring alignment with category strategy objectives. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to effectively mitigate risks and ensure the continuity of supply. You will promote integration with critical contractors to maximise the value of commercial relationships for both the company and the contractor.

About you:

* You hold a Bachelor of Business or Commerce (or similar) with a major in Logistics and Supply Chain, or you have equivalent experience. Experience with construction contracts is highly desired.
* You possess exceptional sourcing and contracting skills, with proven experience in market research, cost analysis, and the development of procurement plans and sourcing strategies.
* You have demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in formalising negotiated outcomes into contracts.
* You are experienced in post-award contract management, including performance and contract management.
* You have a strong background in category management, sourcing, and contracts within an infrastructure asset operations or maintenance environment.
* You are confident in interacting with and influencing senior stakeholders and contractor representatives.
* You are always on the lookout for improvement opportunities, identifying inefficiencies, considering alternatives, and challenging the status quo.
* You are highly proficient in using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
