OverviewPortfolio Practice Manager (Senior PMO Consultant) role at Cochlear — fixed-term contract through 31 December 2026, based at Macquarie, Sydney.

This opportunity offers the chance to drive a critical uplift in delivery maturity within a supportive team and environment.ResponsibilitiesGovernance & Delivery Assurance: design and implement scalable governance frameworks across programs and projects; monitor compliance with delivery standards, stage gates, and risk management protocols; facilitate assurance reviews and support remediation planning.Reporting & Analytics: develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and insights for executive and delivery teams; ensure timely and accurate reporting of status, risks, issues, and benefits realization; drive automation and standardisation of reporting processes.Maturity Uplift & Continuous Improvement: assess current PMO maturity and identify opportunities for uplift; lead initiatives to embed best practices in planning, execution, and closure; support capability development through coaching and knowledge sharing.Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with delivery teams, business units, and senior leadership to align PMO practices; act as a trusted advisor on project governance and delivery health; facilitate workshops and forums to promote transparency and alignment; excel in a collaborative team environment.What makes this opportunity uniqueThis role drives the uplift of project and program delivery maturity across a dynamic portfolio and is instrumental in establishing governance, reporting standards, and delivery assurance practices to support strategic execution and operational excellence.About YouTo add value to Cochlear in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience.Essential SkillsSystems & Tools Proficiency:Microsoft Office Suite — Excel, PowerPoint, WordMicrosoft Project — scheduling and resource planningJira — agile boards, workflows, reportingFamiliarity with Confluence, SharePoint, Power BI, and other PMO-relevant platformsProfessional ExperienceMinimum 5 years in PMO, project governance, or delivery assurance rolesExperience in large-scale transformation or enterprise programsExperience of SAP implementations would be highly desirableStrong understanding of both agile and waterfall methodologiesCore CompetenciesAnalytical mindset with attention to detailEffective communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environmentsProven ability to drive change and uplift delivery practicesDesired SkillsCertification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM)Experience in regulated or complex industries (healthcare, finance, technology)Exposure to portfolio management tools and techniquesHow to applyIf you feel you have the skills and experience to be successful in this role and want to build your career with Cochlear, please start your application by clicking the apply button below.Why CochlearAt Cochlear we value and celebrate the unique contributions of our people and aim to create an environment where individuals can realise their full potential.
