Roles available in Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin.The Policy, Markets and Insight Division supports the NDIS Commission's delivery of legislative functions through strategic policy development and advice focused on the regulatory framework, the provider market and workforce quality; data and analysis activities and other major projects and initiatives.
This includes creative and strategic thinking, data analysis and evidence reviews, to solve complex policy issues that facilitate upholding the rights of people with disability through regulation of the NDIS market, to enable the provision of protected and quality supports.
The Division supports the NDIS Commissioner with inquiries and reviews, delivery of NDIS workforce initiatives and administration of the NDIS support for providers grants program.The Policy, Markets and Insight Division consists of the following:Regulatory FrameworkParticipant RightsProvider MarketWorkforce QualityData and InsightsData and InsightsThe Data and Insights Team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality analytics that underpin data-driven decision-making and enables the Commission to ensure people with disability receive quality and safe supports and services under the NDIS.
The team is accountable for data management and modelling, providing business intelligence to operational units, reporting on key metrics and trends, and developing models to facilitate safeguarding.
The team also provides regular, reliable and accurate data to senior leadership.Senior Data Analyst – Reporting and InsightsContribute to the development of systems for the extraction, linkage, management, monitoring, analysis and reporting of relevant data.Undertake statistical analyses of NDIS Quality and Safeguards data and associated datasets.Provide analytical expertise to support the evaluation and reporting of NDIS Quality and Safeguards data and associated datasets.Contribute to the development and implementation of the data and analytics function, including the development and tracking of key indicators.Contribute to the preparation of analytics reports for a varied audience, including routine reporting on key Commission indicators and ministerial briefings.Provide subject matter expertise on data analysis and reporting, and the use of data for risk profiling and compliance with Commission rules.Provide support and guidance to stakeholders in the interpretation of analytical results.Contribute to good documentation practices that enable replicable processes for analysis, evaluation, monitoring and quality improvement.Skills, knowledge and experienceDemonstrated proficiency with one or more of the following: R, SQL, Python or data visualisation tools (Qlik Sense would be a bonus).
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and productive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on data analytics projects.High-level knowledge and skills across a range of data-related functions such as the statistical analysis of large datasets, systems design, data linkage and management.Effective written and verbal communications skills, including reporting, presentation and negotiation abilities.Highly developed organisational skills and the capacity to manage competing demands and to meet deadlines.Ideal candidateLived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context would be an advantage.Qualifications in and/or equivalent experience in a discipline such as statistics, epidemiology, social science, psychology, information technology or data analytics.Additional notesThe position locations are flexible and may be performed from any of the NDIS Commission locations in Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin.How to apply1.
