About You
- Working towards CA or CPA Qualifications
- Bachelors of Business or Commerce with disciplines in Finance or Accounting

Position Summary
To assist the Senior Accountants and Team Leaders with accounting services for a range of clients. An Intermediate Accountant has the demonstrated ability to complete work with minimal supervision, can use tax software efficiently, meets deadlines, and has advanced technical ability to identify issues for clients and for the Manager. Work is completed using the firm’s standard working papers and standards. The position supports cooperative team work and ongoing learning, progressively taking on more complex work and improving efficiency. Key Requirements
- 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Experience balancing task focus with strategic client perspective
- Some experience in developing a client base, networking and generating referrals
- Proven history of demonstrating a strong client focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities
- Primary contact for your clients
- Communicate proactively with clients to understand their needs
- Articulate the value of our services beyond annual accounting preparation
- Monitor scope of work and fees
- Advise clients of changes in scope and fees
- Monitor service levels to meet client expectations
- Prepare interim and end of year financial statements for review
- Prepare tax and other compliance returns
- Monitor tax payments
- Interviews with clients and second chair Annual Accounting Reviews
- Prepare Company and Trust statutory compliance documents as required
- Code and monitor cashbooks/data files for clients
- Assist with preparation of cashflow forecasts, letters and business plans
- Draft letters, correspondence, reports and other documents as required
- Assist with mentor training of graduate accountants
- Simple review of salary and wages tax returns and BAS
- Identify opportunities for additional services
- Ask for referrals
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Develop external networks and referral relationships
