Seeking an experienced Heavy Motor Claims Consultant with a strong background in managing heavy OR commercial motor claims. Key Responsibilities
* Assist in management of a portfolio of heavy motor vehicle claims, ensuring prompt investigation and assessment of liability and damages
* Liaise with brokers, fleet managers, drivers, witnesses, and repair specialists to gather pertinent claim information
* Conduct detailed investigations, including accident reconstruction, to determine liability and extent of damages
* Negotiate settlements on large and often contentious claims, ensuring value for the company while maintaining excellent customer service
* Manage legal and recovery processes for substantial claims involving third parties, salvage, and subrogation
* Contribute to continuous improvements in heavy motor claims processes, leveraging industry best practices and technological tools
* Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Requirements
* 2-4 years' experience managing heavy motor vehicle claims, ideally in a commercial or fleet environment (will consider commercial motor experience)
* Strong technical knowledge of heavy motor insurance policies
* Proven expertise in handling end-to-end case management of losses including accident investigations and recovery procedures
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of dealing with stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to work under pressure handling large, often contentious claims with tight deadlines
* Formal qualifications in insurance, heavy vehicle engineering, or related disciplines preferable
