We are currently looking for experienced Kitchenhands / Servery staff to work within the main kitchen and serving areas of Aged Care facilities at Toronto.
These are casual positions, which means your hours will vary from week to week and shifts may be on short notice. There are both morning and afternoon shifts available.
The kitchen environments are very busy so you must be able to multi‐task and work well under pressure.
Duties:
* Greeting residents and offering them beverages, tea, coffee and cold beverages.
* Taking food orders from the menu and serving accordingly.
* Following dietary sheets to serve residents the correct meal consistency.
* Preparing meal trays and delivering them to the residents' rooms.
* Assisting with basic, general food preparation and making sandwiches.
* Heating food to the appropriate levels before serving.
* Recording temperatures of food, fridge, freezers and dishwasher accurately.
* Labelling food and storing appropriately.
* Cleaning and maintaining a tidy kitchen.
* Setting up / packing away dining areas.
* Washing and drying all dishes, polishing cutlery and storing correctly.
* Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
To be successful:
* At least 6 months experience working within a kitchen is required.
* Confidence to work independently at times.
* Provision of two recent work referees.
* Hold a current police clearance or be willing to obtain one before commencing work.
* Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport.
* Must be available for short‐notice shifts, often for afternoon work.
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
