Job Description
The Reserve Setting Analyst is responsible for managing and recommending vehicle auction reserves based on market values and supporting the Vehicle Risk team. The role serves as a trusted business partner for regular reserve review and implementation of true market value of a used car in a timely manner. The role ensures vehicle remarketing sales price is set in accordance with VWFS policy requirements and manages external suppliers on meeting agreed KPI's. This role ensures accurate reserve price setting for vehicle disposal, supports lifecycle management initiatives, and meets reporting requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining compliance and operational efficiency in vehicle remarketing.
What you'll do:
Vehicle Reserve Setting & Pricing
* Manage and implement regular review of auction reserves for all vehicles in stock.
* Conduct motor vehicle valuations to ensure reserves reflect true market value.
* Manage stakeholder expectations (internal and external) through regular weekly Auction Reserve meetings and provide update on results.
* Prepare, circulate, and obtain sign-off on final reserve settings.
* Monitor supplier performance and turnaround times against SLAs; identify improvement opportunities.
* Analyse and report auction performance using independent sources for audit purposes.
* Provide support to the Fleet team by delivering accurate current market valuations and purchase price analysis.
Vehicle Risk & Data Management
* Maintain and update vehicles and related data in VWFS systems to ensure accurate quoting and reporting.
* Support automation of data extracts and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Manage the Asset Risk inbox and respond to business-as-usual (BAU) enquiries, including vehicle activations, RV updates/overrides, and purchase price adjustments.
Reporting
* Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports accurately and on time.
Education/Training/Experience
* Tertiary education in business or finance is preferred.
* High attention to detail and time management skills.
* Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and convert data into actionable insights.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Passion for cars and exposure to automotive industry.
