Residential Support Worker Opportunity
This role offers the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in a residential setting. The successful candidate will provide consistent support and mentorship, creating a safe and respectful environment.
The primary focus of this role is to support young people while they are on remand, ensuring they engage in daily routines and make healthy life choices. The candidate will work closely with the Coordinator to develop and implement individualised activity plans tailored to each young person's needs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing ongoing support and guidance to young people, promoting their well-being and development.
* Collaborating with the Coordinator to design and deliver strengths-based activity plans that cater to the diverse needs of young people.
* Maintaining open and effective communication with both young people and the Coordinator, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
* Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices by providing opportunities for participation in recreational, cultural, and wellbeing activities.
Requirements for this position include:
* A minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work, or AOD, or relevant level of experience (minimum 1 year in a similar role).
* Experience in delivering services to young people, either individually or in groups.
* Excellent communication skills and an understanding of Aboriginal culture.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Client Management Systems for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
* Strong problem-solving skills to manage complex situations effectively.
