Your Opportunity
While many people gamble for entertainment, a large number of Australians develop gambling habits that negatively impact themselves, their families and their communities. One in five people in NSW are impacted by the effects of their own or others' gambling.
Mission Australia is proud to deliver the GambleAware program across the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers. This program provides free, confidential, and non-judgmental counselling and support for individuals, families, and community members concerned about their own or someone else's gambling.
Positions are available in Tweed Heads, Lismore, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Nambucca, Port Macquarie and Kempsey.

* Gambling Counsellors – deliver specialist therapeutic interventions via face‐to‐face, telephone, and online methods. They offer services such as gambling‐specific counselling, multi‐venue self‐exclusion assistance, and access to tailored information and strategies to address gambling harm and must hold a Degree in Psychology or Counselling / Other related Degree and Diploma in Counselling and be registered with a professional body.
* Financial Counsellors – help clients understand their financial options, resolve financial problems, and build long‐term financial capability through counselling, advocacy, and education and must hold a Diploma in Financial Counselling OR be close to completion and eligible for registration with FCAN.
* Program Manager – lead a multi‐disciplinary team of Peer Workers, Gambling Counsellors and Financial Counsellors. This role is critical in driving service performance, ensuring compliance, and reporting on outcomes that genuinely change lives.
